My Journey
Hi there!
My name is Anja, and I am an international student from Norway. I am currently in the final semester of my bachelor of design, specialising in industrial design at Monash University. My path to design has been anything but conventional. I have explored various fields, from childcare and the army to security and nursing. Each experience taught me valuable skills, such as adaptability, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail. I truly value all my experiences, however, none of these roles truly fulfilled my deepest interests and passions.
My love for creativity has always been a constant in my life where I expressed it through painting, drawing, woodwork and other crafts. These interests finally led me to pursue a creative career, and I chose design, not really knowing what to expect.
At Monash, I have embraced a collaborative approach to design, believing that the best solutions come from working together and considering multiple perspectives. This mindset has allowed me to create thoughtful, user-centric solutions that make a difference. Through my time at Monash I have explored various parts of creative practice, and have become passionate about 3D modelling, rendering, model making, furniture design, sustainability, and charcoal drawing.
As I continue to evolve as a designer, I am excited to merge my multidisciplinary background with my design expertise to create impactful, innovative, and sustainable solutions. Monash’s vibrant community and top-tier education have been instrumental in my journey.
